Had my '89 until it saved my daughter's life in 2000. She was hit from behind at about 45mph by a fully loaded van pulling a large trailer, everything the man from New York owned. Shoved her into a pick-up. She walked away with a sore back. Did bend the frame but saved her. Used to get 25mpg on the freeway. Didn't care about around town, just loved the car. Still miss it

I'm a young guy with a 2003 town car and I love it. When people get in they marvel at the quiet comfortable ride and the inviting beautiful cabin.

When I was little my grandmother had a white 88 towncar. I could immediately tell how different it was than the cars my parents drove, especially how the dash looked. One of the nicest rides I have ever been in.

I bought a 1996 Town Car a few weeks ago. Best $5900 I ever paid! Like this one, an old gentleman passed away. No one else wanted it. Rust free. I bought it at auction in Minden, Nebraska. Looks like it just came off the car carrier!

My first car was an 88 town car. Had power wing windows. Massive trunk. Could seat 7 comfortably. I wish I still had it. Was a great car

Last October (2020), I birthday-treated myself to a 2002 Lincoln Town, Signature Series, Tiara Edition, 72, 000 miles, single owner.
Five grand.

...and I've already had five grand worth of beautiful, non-GPS, non-Internet, no-nonsense cruising.
(And I used to be a Cadillac guy!!)

I miss my old 88 Lincoln town car...I called it ” the couch" best car I ever owned, easy to work on and plenty sturdy.

I still have the '89 Town Car I bought in High School... all my friends laughed at me since I got a "grandpa car". Other than the rear window regulators going out, it's still running like new with 185k on the clock. Much better built than that Mopar garbage.

I love the entire panther line, each generation of panther cars. Even the old LTDs and Lincoln/Mercurys are easy to find common parts for. I’ve also seen a few in the junk yards with bad heads but the bodies were in decent condition for parts.

My Father-in-law had two Town Cars. I used to do all of the basic and scheduled maintenance on them for him. They were so easy to jack up and work on. The best part was taking it for a test drive, like riding on a cloud! The trunks WERE enormous, he could fit his trash cans in them and take them to the town dump. I really miss him and those cars!

As being a mechanic myself and started working on older cars such as the Lincoln it takes me back I love the way they made cars in that day

I have a 1999 Lincoln Town Car with almost 233K miles and still going strong! Yes, the A/C still blasts ice cold, never added refrigerant either!

Reminds me of my '88 Mercury Grand Marquis. same platform, different brand name. It had the 5.0, the AOD, and 2.73/1 rear axle. Cruising. It would get 25mpg on the interstate, so long as I kept it up over 70-75 mph. I had it converted to the r134 AC gas and it worked okay, not as cold as the old r12.... I drove it from 93k up to 193k miles. It handled better with polyurethane sway bar bushings and end links, and rear air shocks, tires pumped to 38psi.
