In 2011, Andrew Ng offered a free online course on machine learning to over 100,000 students around the world. This helped launch the modern Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) movement, and also led to the founding of Coursera, which partners with top universities to offer online courses. This talk will cover the MOOC movement’s progress over the past three years, lessons that have been learned, and emerging trends in MOOC pedagogy, on-demand context and credentials earned through MOOCs.
