Beethoven wrote this piece to appreciate how napoleon supported the French revolution and brought down the monarchy. But later napoleon crowns himself emperor
imagine how pissed Beethoven would have been

I first heard this when I was 13. I'm 73 now and it sounds as wonderful as the first time I ever heard it!

The tempo is fantastic. I love this recording so much. The wind players, timpanist, so great. Maestro Estrada is so awesome!

Fun Fact: After scratching Napoleon's name off the manuscript, Beethoven considered renaming the symphony EROTICA, but settled for EROICA due to misspelling.

The Eroica is the symphony of symphonies.

I have come to the point where watching these professionals is as enjoyable as the music itself. Wow. These folks are GOOD.

Can’t get enough of this. It’s infused with energy. I love how he focuses his applause on the orchestra❤️ He seems humble. He’s a great conductor!

The more I listen this fabulous orchestra the more I don't change it neither BP nor LSO. Andrés Orozco-Estrada and this great group of musicians make my life. And during this pandemic time they have demonstrated they are all excellent soloist.

I've "discovered" Beethoven more extensively at this late point in my life, and it seems to me that he was the genuine pioneer of 19th-century music, really paving the way for Schubert, Schumann and Brahms. And Orozco-Estrada, Norrington and other modern conductors have found out how to brush the cobwebs away from this genial musician and his music. It is a pleasure to hear (and see) them at work. A real public service. Many thanks! JAT
