Being a 100% African, it's interesting to see an African-American with 100% African DNA. Whoa! Maybe that's why your so in tuned with the African side.

This sounds fascinating. I'm Haitian so this is a good sign for me.

I think it was cool that you understand African History so much that being told that your ancestors are from a particular country is futile to you because the current national boundaries are artificial and were created for colonial means. I would like to get to that level some day in understanding African History. Your videos are never in vain. You have educated me as a Haitian American wandering about my DNA results, as well. Keep up the good work. Your course program on Patreon is on my Christmas wishlist.

Hey, love the video. I just got my DNA tested through AncestryDNA and my results came back 100% too. My DNA covers the whole of Africa I was shocked and people are asking me if I'm from Africa but I'm not. My parents are from the West Indies and I thought I was going be mixed because my cousin took the test though the same site and he was all mixed up. At the end of the day I'm glad and blessed that I'm 100% African.

There is no such thing as a sub Saharan African nor is there a thing as a North African since the so called sub Saharan African is indigenous to all of Africa and have lived in northern Africa for thousands of years unlike the bulk of those occupying northern Africa presently

Your mom was a maroon. Omg that is so cool, the maroons were run away slaves that lived in the mountains of jamaica.

I'm also Jamaican, my results were 93% (23andme) & 94% (AncestryDNA). My mum found out she was 99% African.

West indians tend to have higher African traces compared to our American cousins.

I reluctantly took this test using the same company because i wanted to see what they would say about me as an Ethiopian. I actually got 95% Ethiopian with 5% Bantu. In another words 100% African. Which didn't surprise me as i can trace my ancestry 17 generations back, which is very common for Ethiopians to do. Contrary to popular belief a lot of Africans, even Eastern African are 100% pure. Just because most black Americans are mixed doesn't mean everyone else on the planet is mixed too. Don't project your ancestry onto others. Derek, nice to meet another fellow 100% African. *shakes hand* :)

Don't be in shock brother. Some of us have particular destinies that must follow a certain blood line psychically speaking. Perhaps, your path is to recall and reawaken the spirits to reconnect with our psychic memory and powers. Give it some thought.

Congrats! So you're Mbundu paternally eh? My grandad had an Ovimbundu parent. The Mbundu come from Northern Angola and the Ovimbundu come from the south.

Are you planning to do another one with 23&Me to compare the data from both companies?

Derek, welcome to the 100% Afrakan family!! I too am of Caribbean background, both parents. They are Grenadian and Vincentian. My dad is very light and my mom is very dark but my dad has always insisted that he was pure Afrakan. I had my ancestry done by AncestryDNA and it came up that he was right! He is 100% Igbo from Nigeria and my mom Igbo, Fon from Ghana. It's not uncommon for people of Caribbean background to be 100% Afrakan regardless of their complexion because we are in the vast majority unlike in the US where AA are in the vast minority.
