i got this as soon as it came out and completed it, loved it SO much. i feel like this is the first time i've played a "cozy game" where the whole "play at your own pace" thing is actually well-implemented and makes sense, i had a great time filling up every damn plant pot indoors and outdoors. i kept getting upset when customers stopped talking, but i honestly feel like that's a deliberate bit of design made to challenge the player's (and alta's) intense desire for closure with everything tied up neatly, because that's just not how life tends to work. the tone of this game is very unique as well i think, like the relaxing experience of growing some hybrid plants for new fruits, making tea, sitting down for a cup, and then alta spilling some pretty heartbreaking backstory of hers in some of the most natural writing and voice acting i've come across in a game? not like anything i've played before certainly.

I watched one half of this video before finishing the game, and the second half of this video AFTER, and lol honestly I’m happy the twist of COFFEE entering the picture wasn’t spoiled for me!
This game was super special, and touched on some topics I genuinely didn’t think I’d see it address - one of Alta’s tea monologues seemed to imply she and maybe her mother both suffer from OCD, which hit me particularly hard - not to mention a certain character who shows up in the game’s final chapter…
