Wanderstop Review: Can a Cozy Game Heal You?

Wanderstop was great. The problem isn't the game — it's me. Whew, doesn't that sound dramatic? Anyway, yeah, great game, interesting ludonarrative exploration of how coziness interacts with mental health. If you're confused at why this is the video I'm using to temporarily return from my break, don't worry — I'm confused too.

My info:

1:41 Why I'm making this video
2:38 Wanderstop is good
3:17 This game looks gorgeous
4:47 Bruh the soundtrack
5:22 How it plays
7:15 Stressful or relaxing?
10:15 A video game? With good writing? It could happen to you!
14:11 The game is inside your brain
17:51 I finished the game, but I failed it

on your last segment of the video. I think what you said of what Wanderstop did of being a mirror for you to self reflect is something I agree on

And i think Wanderstop was never on giving an answer and a message, that answer is something you get from yourself and the questions you ask yourself, and the perspective of other people (or characters in this case).

I felt you 'not playing it as intended' or 'fix' you is something the game did explore in its themes, mainly on the idea of change.
It gave many perspective on how change is good, bad, slow, fast, healing, destructive, all in lenses of different people. Sometimes the things that propels you and stress is also not a bad thing (as explored in the last chapter of the game). If making checklists and being efficient works for you and is not an escape, keep going. But if doing over excessively is not helping yourself, it is only from that experience in knowing and having no other way like Alta to look into different alternatives and let change take its course.

Does not matter if its on getting your goal to be more relax or more alert. I find myself being an opposite to Alta, and I was able to adapt to Wanderstop's views rather well. But flipping on the themes, if I was to be in the role of being a fighter and playing a game of precision and control, my tendency of being aloof, taking things slow and having less thoughts will impair me in said context, is it a sign of change to learn another perspective, even when it does not come naturally for me, and is not easy, and it takes time, practice and experiences to have a deeper understanding, that can take years.
