Vexillology - My Favourite Flags

In this video I discuss my top ten favourite flags.

As a Marylander, there's no way we will be changing our flag anytime soon. We are so proud of our flag that most of us have one is some form, whether it be the actual flag or a shirt with the pattern on it. You would make a lot of us mad if it were changed.

This video is great in that I've never though about favourite flags. Some of my favorites: The tri colour of France is superb, though I really like any flag with a triskellion or a 'sun in his glory', though the latter are reaching towards heraldry.

The new Nepal flag is, in my opinion, better. Mostly because it is unique in a different way. And that is because there is an actual "mathmatical formula" for drawing it out. So that even if you have never seen it, you could create it simply by following the instructions. Including the symbols on the inside...

The Gadsen flag also derives from a poster made by Ben Franklin, where he depicted the US colonies as a dismembered snake that should "join or die".

Fun fact the “Moon” on the SC flag is actually a reference to the crescent found on the hats worn by revolutionary SC soldiers.
