I love Christopher Pike!!! Definitely preferred him over r.l.stine. Patiently waiting for him to release another witchworld and the last vampire books

Love the video rental store element, what a throwback!
I appreciate your perspective on reading YA horror then & now. Most booktubers don’t discuss the dark side of how dated these books are, but how they can still be enjoyable now if you consider them within their social context. The gender norms then are realised as toxic now and that’s an important point. I go into them knowing they’re going to be cheesy, but I certainly wouldn’t accept it in a book written today.

I finally got around to reading this book and I see why you like it! The main character is so empowering, Christopher Pike definitely writes a good strong female protagonist. Anyways, it’s not my favorite Pike book because it wasn’t super zany but I’m glad I gave it a read!

Thank you for your honest review of The Witch. This sounds like it's better than Slumber Party by Christopher Pike which was his first book. And I wish my memory was as good as yours when it comes to the Christopher Pike books I loved as a kid. 🖤

Yes, Christopher Pike! I'm hesitant to re-read books I enjoyed in my youth because I'm afraid they won't be as good as I remember. Fun video.:-)

It's interesting going back to older television shows, books and movies that you enjoyed in your childhood. Sounds like it held up pretty well, other than the outdated b.s. anyway!

About twenty years ago I gave my stash of Pike books to a girl I thought was cute. I miss those books.

This one sounds so familiar I’m so sure that I saw it at a scholastic book fair before! Way back when of course lol 😆 I think this would be one my son would love.
Neat to hear your thoughts reading it nos years down the road.
