When you start watching a channel not because you like to know about the car but you want to support the channel, you realize you are a real fan

Mark’s sunglasses are 100% Subaru.

He is ready to tackle the trails to his favorite kayaking spot, followed by a yummy treat at Starbucks. Great review as always.

Just wanted to pop in and say how much I appreciate you guys showing off the FR curves for the stereos in the cars you review. This was the only place I could find one for my new Civic. Y'all are some real ones.

Great timing, my wife’s girlfriend just gotten dogs and they tell me they really need the extra space in the back.

I owned the 2021 Subaru Outback XT Touring and when I moved from Eastern Washington to Yuma, AZ, I made two trips back and forth through Eastern Nevada (US 93). I had to pass semi trucks pulling triples on a two lane highway and at 70 MPH you can smash the gas and get to 105 MPH in a couple seconds, because of all that torque. That to me is a safety feature, because you can reliably pass those road trains quickly.

My friend David is like a 6' something all muscle rock climber who has taken his 2024 XT on multiple hiking trips. He slept in it and took it off road in the desert and in deep snow. Only ever got stuck when he basically tried to drive through snow that was multiple feet high when he didn't expect it and he still managed to get out. They are definitely a do everything car. Just need to improve that screen! More physical controls, Subaru. It's what the people crave.

I'm a 23 yr old car guy and I have a 2024 Outback Touring XT. I could've gotten just about any car but found the Touring XT trim of Outback to be one of the best bangs for your bucks over any other new car right now. The luxury features, performance, AWD system, cargo space, mpgs, reliability, safety, and overall comfort all for under $40k (I paid $5k under MSRP for mine as the 2025s were arriving to the dealership the following week). Just about as good as you can get for that price for a brand new car. Infotainment isn't great but totally livable if you plan to just use Apple Carplay and "auto" climate settings like I do.

These are really good car reviews. I appreciate that. They focus on the actual experience of normal people driving a car in a normal way doing normal things that they are likely to do. It's not doing crazy shit off-road, rutted, off camber, stressing about the .1% cases where the car isn't perfect. It's a good review..

Agree, fix that infotainment system and it’s a winner.

I upgrade from a 2013 to a 2024 Outback last year... huge improvement on the interior materials, noise isolation and ride quality... great cruiser for long road trips. The infotainment is really annoying with its slow startup, but works fine once it settles. The first thing I did to the car was to replace all of the door speakers (not the harmon system) and it was a big improvement for a few hundred bucks.

Test drove a Touring last year and I agree with much of the observations here. The turbo 2.4T transforms this puppy into a great long road trip vacation vehicle. Speed sneaks up on you and at 75 it seems to be barely revving at all, very quiet and smooth on the interstate. Steering is pretty quick too if devoid of any real feel. Not a fan of the IPAD in the middle of the dash nor the Harmon Karden but I could live with those things. For those of you out there that still like the wagon form factor, get this one while you can, based on the disguised prototypes I have seen pics of the next version is going to be a lot boxier and more upright. Great review SG as you always do, keep up the great work out there.

I have the same 2.4 turbo engine in a Subaru Ascent. At 84, 000 miles it has been absolutely reliable. No issues whatsoever. Driven at other than WOT the engine and drivetrain are smooth and quiet. 10/10 would buy an Outback with the same engine. 1/10 would buy an Outback with the base engine.

Bought our outback 3.6R touring new in 2019. The final year with the flat 6. Great torque and power.

We have a 21 XT Touring. Awesome family car! Great for road trips. It’s fast for what it is, good mpg, roomy, comfortable. The Awd system is the best on market in snow. We dd have problems with the big touchscreen. Subaru finally put a new CCU in it and it works faster w/o problems. We’ve had a lot of Subarus over the years, really like the way they ride & drive. The XT touring is the “high end” Subaru 😁

I had a 2017 Outback with the flat six. It sounded great with an aftermarket intake and filter. If it had a 6 speed manual, I would still own it today.
