Everyone give Luke a big thumbs up!
I grow organically because the only food I trust to be 100% organic is the food that I grow myself. I want to grow the most nutrient dense food possible. And organic gardening just makes sense! Thanks again Luke

I do it for the joy of finding a praying mantis hidden in the foliage, or the soul soothing hum of the bees around my head. I do it for the joy my little boy finds in the turtle that lives under my shed, how happy he get when we find "mister frog" I do it for the wonder and magic I see in the butterflys
and ladybugs. I do it for the giggles of the people both old and young when confronted with a field of flowers. I garden organically to honor the earth and the simply pleasure it can provide. Nothing can compare to the beauty of nature especially when people take the time to both replenish and appreciate the wonder provided by nature. That is what is universal. That ahhh factor comes not in just taste but also in beauty and cooperative existence. It is beauty and love in its purest form. That's why I do it.

I grow organically out of respect for Mother Earth who gave me life and sustains my life. I honor her with offerings (compost, wood ash, etc) and don’t abuse her with chemicals. Plus, I like seeing bugs and birds and critters.

The French have a concept about food called "terrior", which is the concept that where a plant is grown has a huge impact on the flavor. It's highly prevalent in wines, but it's prevalent in all vegetables and fruits sold there, and frequently in markets you'll see produce labelled where it's from before you'll see the variety. As someone who's even in a school of Horticulture right now, I have to absolutely agree that there's nothing like organically grown produce that was grown in local soil. There's a taste quality to it that just can't be measured other than the "mmm!!!" you get when you taste the organic homegrown flavors, and it's wonderful to see it talked about!

What a beautiful sentiment about gardening and going organic! I decided very early on to try organic gardening -- mostly because it just felt like the right thing to do, both for my health and for the health of our planet. In my mind, organic gardening is also the most logical way to garden. I believe it represents a shift in the understanding of our relationship to food and to the planet that we require to grow that food. Thanks for sharing your very cool perspective. Keep it up!

I slowly became an organic gardener thanks to you and a few others learned just how important it is to show my grandson a natural way of growing our veggies and flowers. He is 2 and he already has his own little garden house and helps me along the way. I wish had known better when my kids were younger. Thanks Luke for all of your help! I currently live in Delaware, I was born in East Chicago Indiana 48 years ago, i remember visiting Michigan with my dad a few times when I was younger. I also had the thrill of visiting Mt Baldy dunes a few times! I spent all of my summers in IN as a child.

I love organic gardening, it results in a closer relationship to the food we eat and to nature. Anyone who wants to be successful should take all opinions into consideration, so your opinion does matter, thank you for the great video.

I try my best to grow my vegetables without using pesticides. My biggest problem now is red spider mites on my tomatoes. When I stopped praying for aphids my problem with aphids became less. Our grow season start soon so I already started planting. Can't wait. I will be trying heirloom tomatoes for the first time as well. Thanks for your videos. I learn a lot from them. I am from South Africa.

I myself prefer organic growing, but let's not make the mistake of growing blindly. We owe our product to what we already know - even if it is knowing how to grow organic. So knowledge is important obviously. It's great to know what our organic compost material consists of.

Great video, mate!

I honestly just started gardening based off of your videos. Last year I grew some tomato seeds that I had gotten when I went grocery shopping. Then my aunt told me about your channel and I realized you had a store!! I bought waaaay too many seeds and a couple grab bag packs and spent the winter watching through your videos and planning my set up.

I put in raised beds and wanted to support you since I learned everything from your videos / facebook group! So I am an organic gardener by coincidence!

I grow organic. Have been trying different methods to combat my heavy clay soil as I grow in the soil. Have tried growing in raised bed but the soil gets to hot and that does not seem to be the case with in ground. I am using my own homemade compost and the squashes love it and will grow even in the hard soil.
The heat and uv is the biggest factors that cause problems in my plants. I use shade cloth and this has helped.
I live in the high desert of Southern California.

I think organic gardening is amazing and I practice it on everything I grow.
However, science is pretty amazing too. The science of plants is incredibly fascinating. Understanding how plants uptake water through osmosis, but have separate transport methods for mobile and immobile nutrients. Their internal clocks and ability to sense when the sun is coming up or the lights are going on, as well as its orientation. The uncanny way they manipulate their leaves to better make use of their environment such as folding leaves in or out to change transpiration rates, tilting leaves towards or away from light and sometimes even completely moving out of the way to help light penetrate deeper into their canopies. The list goes on and it's all pretty incredible.

I just want to say a big thank you for all you do! Because of the things you have taught me through your videos I now have my dream garden that allows me to grow food for my family. Organic is important to me. And I love being able to grow my own food so I know what's in it. I took my time and effort to grow it. Thank you again luke wouldnt have the inspiration I do without you!

An excellent source of gypsum (calcium sulfate) is scrap sheetrock from new construction. I pound it into small pices and even powder. Remove most of the paper cover as you can. Works wonders when tilled into clay soil.

Thank you Luke for all you do for gardening and education. I started watching you a couple years ago and your videos are refreshing and interesting. I've learned a lot and appreciate the fact that you make your videos for knowledge and appreciation of the earth and eating healthy. Just like God intended. I also appreciate you haven't " sold out to the man" so to speak with you tube. Thanks again for being you and look forward to many years to come.

This is my first vegetable garden and I chose organic for food that I know isn’t going to make me sick or my family sick. Thanks

Well said Luke. I think you hit it right on the head. This is the first year that I've used Azomite and this is by far my best pepper year ever. The production has blown away anything I have done, growing peppers for 15 years. Oh and the flavor. The flavor is unreal!
