What if America Stayed Neutral in WWI?

As the rest of the world was brutally destroying itself during the First World War, America, meanwhile, was staying on the sidelines, remaining as a neutral nation. But, after a series of key events in which Germany had threatened American trade, the US would eventually join the war, and, by the end of 1918, saw victory, as the German Empire and the rest of the Central Powers were defeated. But what if that changed? What if America had stayed neutral in WWI? Enjoy!

Personally, I preferred the scenario where more than one major powers have to worked together to preserve peace and uphold the balance of power whether they like it or not but this one is good too! So thank you! This is one of the best ones I see from you so far, Josh!

Unrestricted submarine warfare was a result of British using neutral false flags to cross blockades, then they would change back to their original flag & shoot the Germans. As the German Navy couldn't know which ships were under false flags, they stroke everyone.
When Britain realised Germany was taking the passengers & the seamen to safety before sinking the ships, they started filling real neutral ships to the brim with explosives, so Germany wouldn't be able to secure the passengers.

And that's how Britain created a causus belli between the USA & Germany.

William Jennings Bryan also asked that armed merchant ships not be allowed in U.S. ports. This would have enabled the German U-boats to surface, order the evacuation of the ships, and then sink them. But, Pres. Wilson refused to accept this, so the Germans could not have the U-boats surface and evacuate the merchant ships, out of fear that they would be sunk by the armed merchant vessels.

Howdy Josh! Wonderful video. Also America would have been better internally by remaining Neutral in WW1.

What if Napoleon III achieved the Natural Border of France.

Even if the German military took out France, their allies were losing so much ground elsewhere that it would’ve looked like the napoleonic wars. With the Kaiser as napoleon having to invade Italy and the balkins (Austria Hungary collapsing being the reason. Bulgaria wouldn’t have been able to hold out that mess by itself. Serbia and Romania both came back into the fight as Austria went down.)

The mistake is that conclusion that the US business interests wouldn't come into play in the post-war era when reparations had to be paid by broke countries. American business would still make decent money and become influential. It just won't be so inflated that it causes the economy to collapse later

Truth be told, even if the USA didn’t side with Britain in ww1, the central powers were likely going to lose given that the British blockade by itself was already starving Germany and the British intelligence and colonial forces were handling the Ottoman Empire by themselves alright (the Ottoman Empire put up a decent fight, but only really put up a good fight defending Anatolia. If the ottomans didn’t join ww1 the Middle East would likely still be under ottoman rule as of its 1914 borders.

Frankly, it couldn't have stayed out. The US at the time was one of the major "Factories of the World". As such, the German Submarine War posed a risk to its vital strategic interests that could not be ignored by the US.

I give German diplomacy an F during WWI. The Zimmerman telegraph should not have been sent.

The blockades really were the game changer for WW1. USA or not, Germany would have starved into revolution or surrender anyways.
