I just recently have learned of the importance of the skew when getting that finish, still need to sand but you can start off with a higher grit. And my next challenge is to learn to properly sharpen the tools.

The icon for a wood turner is the gouge. The icon for a "*MASTER WOOD TURNER*" is the SKEW! Yes, I know one can't hollow out a form with a skew but that's not my point. The skew typically strikes fear with novice turners. Because of this they rarely become the master of it, as *Tomislav* definitely *IS*! 🥰

A saying I use when demonstrating, from some unknown skew master, "The bevel should rub the wood, but the wood should not know it." I need to work a lot more with the skew...

Wish I had seen this before turning an icicle ornament earlier this evening: that supporting finger tip is golden. My ornament wouldn't have broken at the near tip had I watched this beforehand.

If I tried that I'd launch it at someone's eye... Amazing to see your tool control. Thanks for the video!

Great video Tomislav …. You are a master with the skew! After watching your videos I have felt comfortable enough to start using my skew. I guess that even a 71 year old man can learn some new skills🥴🤠🇨🇱

Looking forward to the Skew video. The skew is a tool I struggle with, probably because I am using it incorrectly.
