Nolan I believe after finishing a draft of a script writes a page synopsis of the plot. This is a brilliant exercise, learning to be self critical and editing your own work. If you can’t explain it simply then you probably don’t understand it yet. Learning to be simple and direct is an art form

I kind of get what he means. He works on making the story and dialogue that all the strange things that are happening are inherently understood. Like the characters are ahead of the audience and behave as if it is normal or understood on camera along with the audience. I think it might let you take more risk visually since the characters in the story already KNOW what is going on. Even if we didn't.

His first Batman movie was good, but the following two were riddled with plotholes and inconsistences.
The only thing that made The Dark Knight good was Heath Ledger.
