Matthew 3:11 “I baptise you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

There can be some confusion when we talk about being baptised with the Holy Spirit and fire. Most understand the meaning of being baptised in water and being baptised with the Holy Spirit. When it comes to the baptism of fire, there seems to be some confusion and misinterpretation.

To rightly understand this passage, let us look at what the Bible teaches us about the baptism of fire. Without doing so, we may be seeking something without knowing what it means.

If you can sustain God's fire you are His, this baptism is not easy like that of Water.Holy Spirit is the fire so God as fire will test you to see whether any inch even is not His, burnt and it will hurt both at physical and spiritual level. So best of luck who go baptism of fire as there will be consequences both at physical and spiritual level.

Hi, It was a different point of view. We always used to pray baptize with holy Spirit and fire. I have a question, if that it is what it means, why Matthew used 'and' in the sentence. Because both Holyspirit and Fire can't baptized with a same person as per your point of view. Right ? It should have been written as "He will baptize you with either Holy Spirit or Fire". Or just simply Holy Spirit or Fire. Even in Greek, the 'and' is used ?

As a prophet let me teach u about Matthew 3:11 This is something every believer in Jesus Christ should ask for for it is one baptism not two. As Holy Ghost plus Fire. Its together as one.
