Peter, I recently adopted a dog from the local rescue and I found three things for the dog when we go out. One is a $40 cover for the back seat that is water proof and creates a one piece cover that hooks on the headrest of the front and back seats protecting the seats and keeping the dog from falling into the foot area of the back seat and it protects the door panels too. The second is an easy to put on harness that just goes over the head and two straps go under the legs and attach with the same mechanism used for most camera bags. There’s a handle the is where the dogs shoulder blades are and it comes in bright colors so you can see them better if they’re running about free. If you just want to secure your dog so they don’t go flying around the cabin in an accident there’s a strap that connects to the seatbelt lock and to a harness that lets them move around the back set and keeps them from jumping out a window or getting out the door when you don’t want them to. Got them all on Amazon for less than $70 total.

Completely agree with your reasons for sewing. In my case, it's Netflix & Chill. It's the only way I can turn that creative switch off for a few hours. It's all I do, everyday. Can't wait to see your sewing skillz!!!

My Dad was a tailor and had a leather biz (his skill actually saved him in the Holocaust). When he died, he had a VERY old Singer sewing machine with table. I took it, used this stuff called GLOW to shine up the wood. The knobs of drawers were broken so I took the handles off the closet doors of my pre war apartment and used those (I also found some great thread spools in them!). The sewing machine still works. I have a pic I took with my first Canon Powershot of a vineyard from 2010 hanging over it. My Dad loved to sew and I taking pics. You can find these old sewing machines that work on FB marketplace (I seen them) for like 150 and PMify them. You are pretty handy!

Photography is the best outlet. As a teacher in Shanghai, being able to just run around with my camera lets me forget the stress of work. Nice to hear that even the youtube famous need to do it as well!
