In film, you expose for the shadows because it's hard to blow out the highlights. In Digital you expose for the highlights because digital image sensors clip at 255.

With histogram expose for ambient background and add off camera light to properly expose subject.

Does the does the histogram take into account photos taken in "raw", because sometimes it seems that highlights are "clipped" you can still recover in post processing?

I have always thought its best to underexposed? Doesn't over exposing blow out the highlights too much?

It is something very funy in my photography, i have set my camera to get the best possible photo and i got it but when i transfer my photo into LR 5 photo is totlly different then the one i have looked into camera...Don't understand why...

What do you mean by "lowest native ISO?" Is that just the lowest ISO on the camera?

But there's more information in the darks than the lights. Confused. Under-exposing is better from what I know.
