How to add Voice to Your avatar

This tutorial will show you how to create a talking avatar.

In this tutorial you are going to learn how to create a talking avatar using the Voki website.

Step # 1 -- Navigating to the Voki Site

Step # 2 -- Creating Your Avatar

You can customize your character however you wish, but here we are going to focus on the audio features of the avatar. You have four ways to bring a voice to your avatar, phone, text to speech, your computers microphone, or by uploading a file. Click the phone option and you will be given a number to dial, you can then enter the passcode and use this to voice your avatar.

Step # 3 -- Using Text to Voice and the Microphone

Alternatively you can use the text to speech option to type some text, select a voice, and use this. When you are ready click done and the voice area will collapse. You will see a play button has appeared below the avatar on the left, click this to listen back to the voice. You can also use the microphone to record something, click the microphone icon and click "Allow" in the dialog box if one appears. Click the red "record" button and speak into the computer. Click "Save" and the voice track will be applied.

Step # 4 -- Saving the Avatar

The final option is to upload a file from your computer, click the folder icon and just click browse to find a file, open it, then click the "Upload" button. Once this process has completed click done and the audio track will be added to your avatar. In order to save this avatar you will need to have Voki classroom and, assuming that you do, just click "Publish".
