i'm a big fan of the first nexus 7 coz of it's great value for the what i get. i'm a little dissapointed it's not using the tegra processor anymore but i'm pretty sure the qualcom processor is just as good or even better in certain areas.

I'm very happy with my 1st gen nexus7 (so happy about it that I sold my PC). I may buy the 2nd gen one after it gets a lil' bit cheaper .

The Phenom II 4 core or an i3 + 100 dollar graphics card are good for budget builds.

The APU's from AMD offer enough power to run games well on low-med settings. You will save money by not having to buy an expensive PSU or PCI graphics card.
