Here is a quick unboxing of the New 2nd Generation Nexus 7. I will show what's inside, give some comparisons to the 1st gen Nexus 7 and give some initial thoughts on the device.

I had the 1st gen Nexus 7, but the plastic edging makes the screen prone to cracking. Glad they fixed it.

I'm surprised that in all of the unboxing/review videos no one has mentioned the nexus 4 lock animation since the first gen didn't have it. I think it's an awesome touch and looks great.

You could buy the usb-micro usb adapter and use a flash drive. Although I do agree that it's much more convenient to have an SD card slot. That's one of the things I heavily value in samsung phones.

I actually find them very useful. I guess I'm a bit old school because I prefer to keep my music on my phone versus on the cloud. Networks aren't always reliable and I don't like to have interruptions. I also really like recording video/taking pics straight to the SD card. I have a 16 gb S3 so having even an extra 16 gb or 32 gb for pics and videos is very useful which leaves the internal storage to more apps.

I have had one for about 4 months and they are an exceptional tablet, one thing to consider is rooting, it's really useful considering the nexus 7 slows down after a couple months, the root ability can enable lagfix and other useful APS :)

Actually, the thick bezels are located so you can watch YouTube, Netflix, and other videos and better hold your device. Just saying, it works.

They've actually said some time a go that external storage will not be part of the nexus line. A little disappointing especially since their reasoning was that it will confuse certain people.

I have a 64GB SD Card in my S4. That gives me like 20 movies, seemingly endless photos, and a shit ton of apps.
