It was a stupid scene I don't care what excuses people come up with the writers are stupid they had daemon tripping for 5 episodes just to have their way with his character if they wanted to write something compelling to the plot they could've made him see his father baelon who was the heir to the throne before viserys the could've talked and showed a different side to daemon or simply stick to the books and give daemon his original scenes

At first, I thought it was supposed to be Aemma. Since if Daemon were older, he'd be married to her instead of Viserys. It makes sense he'd be jealous that Viserys got a Targaryen wife as per tradition, and he didn't. Accepting Targaryen traditions before settling in to this show saved me from being too shocked at this scene.


I pity anyone who went into this as ignorant and blind as Oedipus.

I think it's meant to be a representation of his problems with Women.
Since he was little when he lost his mom and he never really knew his mom or was raised by his mother which kinda explains his problems with the opposite sex.
So from the stories his mom and her descriptions and the fact his a Targaryen and they constantly only like other Targaryens and mix that with his issues with Women and Harrenhal fucking wigh him. It's not surprising.

Unless, having mixed their blood with dragon blood, the ritual their ancestors performed, I cant see how the Targaryen bloodline could go on, sure their was madness but they would be deformed, with limited intellect. Are they human or a hybrid of human/dragon, and thats why Daynaris baby was born wirh scales?

Daemon didnt know his mum. But even if she hadnt died when he was a toddler, and Daemon actually did have an incestuous relationship with his mum, it wouldnt shock or unsettle me at all. I really wouldnt even give it much thought to be honest. Id just shug it off and accept it for what it is. Ive been reading these books since 1998...way too long to be taken back or unsettled by any of the Targaryen weirdness.
