So if I get this .. companies not citizens decide how we run our towns? That seems a lot of power for a sector dedicated to profit doesn't it? How can we really trust them and why should we give them so much authority?

There is a real sustainable community in Costa Rica called Saint Michael's Sustainable Community. I live there. It is much more  fun than the video, lol.
