A Trained Trap Monster Vetran's advice for Trap Monster Novices:
Don't let this video fool you. Paleozoics aren't Trap Monsters for the following reasons:
- They are not continous traps
- They special summon themselves from the grave, not the backrow.
- THEY DO NOT COUNT AS TRAPS WHILE THEY ARE
(That may seem nitpicky, but actually is really important info to remember because almost every piece of Trap Monster support (Silhouhatte, Anguish Pattern, Azarune, The Tikis, Apophis, That's 10!) will specify one or more of those three requirements.)

I love trap monsters but what they really need is a towers, maybe one that sets itself during the end phase. Like "You're Finished" really should have been a towers since it already has such a high activation condition (10 or more cards and/or effects activated that turn).

I love that the Eldlich cards all elude to multiple main deck monsters. I like to think Konami wanted a series of 3-4 boss monsters for trap monster decks. But then they saw the direction it was going and said “oh hellnah cancel this archetype”

If you want a really bad tech option, you can get Mimesis Elephant off of Silhouhatte rabbit.

As for why, it can change the type and attribute of a monster on the field.

In other words: Lurrie is my favorite Divine Fish and Chundra is my favorite Wind Psychic.

The best thing to call is debatably Divine, Divine-Beast since they're the least useful attribute and type respectively, but coming up with some funny alternatives is worth it.

As someone who loves tinkering with these guys, I will say it’s so nice getting to play a ton of trap monsters that actually do something, you used to have to play shit like zoma the spirit as their were like 3 actually good trap monsters. Setting 5 and passing is a lot better when each set can theoretically trade one for one

I have been playing this deck with Gyberse Gadget/Dotscaper to build Silhouette rabbit without getting interactet with Handtraps.
And you missed the new support cards "you are finished" and "thats 10!".
The best thing about trap monster is there specific ruiling that trap monster when they get flipped face down they set them self back in the spell trap zone so you can play switcheroo + daruma carma canon and you will have the best time of your life

(No seriously, Eldlich with no floodgates is super fun to pilot- I just wish it had more stuff to do. It feels so outdated nowadays)

The tikis, the tuner dragster, statue of pain metal reflect slime and a few other decent trap monsters combined with the gravekeepers cat and the mask monster that when it's flipped you get a trap back to your hand makes for a pretty decent trap deck overall.

I really wanna play rabbit in labrynth to search and set your finished. You can easily activate 6-7 effects by yourself on your opponent's draw phase.

Silhouhate hare still the best end board option for my snake eyes. Just slap anguish and have 2 pops(anguish) + basic SE interactions.

Also eldlich fiendsmith is crazy, 1 engraver into conq + aphophis + 4 cards in hand

My deck has 1 metal reflect slime trap card t if youre opponet attacks you can summon it as a 3000 defense monster and use it to summon acient egyptian slime so i always win against my dad
