@Jack Spratt the Portuguese aren't good at making foreign food because they don't have too.They have a rich culinary history and don't need to borrow from other countries. Nor should they. Their food is some of the best in the world. Not as famous as Italian, Spanish or American, but far better. Only someone who doesn't love food would prefer a hotdog to a bifana or a prego. The Portuguese grill fish like no one else does. As for the hotdogs with sprinkled chips that is actually Brazilian. You find them at the food carts near the nightclubs. If you want fast crapy food go to the States.

As portuguese, the way you describe Lisbon makes me smile so bad! :) The "aura" that you were talking about, I feel exactly the same every time I visit Lisbon, I can't describe! And the way you talk about "calçada" makes me smile even more! :)  It is art, indeed, and sometimes we don't give it (and so many other things) the right value. Portugal, is a unique country, with strong traditions. We have so many things to be proud of, even though all the crisis and bad politicians that rule us. Seriously, this video is amazing and next time you decide to visit my country you should try Porto. You'll fall in love :) Ohh, and your accent was really good! :D

About calçada, we can also find it at some streets in Rio de Janeiro and some others places in Brazil.
Obviously made by the Portuguese people when they arrived some centuries ago.

I looked at many videos about Lisbon and yours is the best description of this exquisite city! I cannot wait to go back there I felt at home! Portuguese people are very friendly and welcoming which makes the trip even more enjoyable! I love Lisbon!

Amazing! Calçada also can be seen in Brazil! Because When the Portuguese discoverd that country, they build too calçada there! But is a Portuguese floor of course! :-)

My city! ♥ So glad that you loved Lisbon and your accent was quite good when saying Lisboa! ;D But yes Macau also has calçada since they're a Portugal's former colony but Lisbon's calçada is the most amazing one, specially at the "baixa" :)

Thanks for the information on "Calçada Portuguesa"! Another commenter told me this too, but said that Portugal had the best Calçada. I guess I will have to go these other destinations and make up my own opinion! Thanks for the comment.

Hey Dianna! you should be able to see a lot in 3 days but of course the more time the better. Lisbon is a magical city full of history. Be sure to have a Pasteis de Belem for me!!!

Thanks for history lesson, everything I read online claimed it originated in Portugal. Instead of "invented" I should have said "perfected".
