I believe and dont quote me on this. You stick it in a river and with almost Like a wall of rocks, both ways down kinda like a pacman face. Then, when the fish come down the river, they can't get past the rocks, and they have to go through the trap. And they'll get stuck in the trap. I wonder if that would make it more useful.

You need to put fragrant bait. Chum, bread or cat food works well

Yo you should know that when setting a trap if it’s a large one you need more bait smaller less and either way you need to let the trap sit for a few hours so the fish will willingly check it out thinking it’s become a part of their home that when the trap works at least the type of trap your using. So you needed to put more bait and let it sit longer I recommend a gutted fish throw it in and it’s guts too so the trap is more appealing fish are naturally canablistic in nature so there’s no worries about ethical concerns it’s just the life cycle but I promise it will work 100x better that way

You gotta set your open funnel facing into the current. Use a V shaped dam of rocks or sticks to direct fish into your funnel, set in the point of the V. Go upstream and make a ruckus to scare fish downstream into your dam and then into your funnel

Hey I think it would helpful to put it against some flow of water like in a stream or a river that way the fish can go down but not go back up, I think I saw somebody do that somewhere

We used to make something like this when i was a kid we made it outta chicken wire. Bait we used was cream corn in a sock got a lot of cat fish.

I made one from a 2 ltr mtn dew bottle, i checked it the next morning and had caught a few sunfish/blugills about half that size lol
It was pretty cool and occupied some of my time! I should have made a video myself!

you are supposed to put it near downstream water or at an opening for it to work well
