This scene actually shows us that Godzilla is not a hero, nor does he care about the humans or if he wants to protect humanity. This is the MonsterVerse Godzilla that we’re talking about, Godzilla in the MonsterVerse is an ancient species that is always trying its best to keep balance in nature.

The most horrific detail is the fact that the door closes AS THE BUS WAS FALLING. This mean that the kids would be trapped inside as the water pressure is too great to open the door.
