Come join Greg Foot on a scientific adventure diving down into the deep dark ocean! Starting on the deck of the 'Baseline Explorer', you’ll be lifted out into the waves, you’ll be cleared to dive, then you'll break the surface and head down, further and further, until you reach the side of an underwater volcano 250m under the surface, in the Twilight Zone just off the coast of Bermuda!

Huge thanks to Nekton, XL Catlin, Project Baseline, Triton Submersibles, Global Underwater Explorers and all the crew on the Baseline Explorer.

Shot & edited by Greg Foot. Additional footage courtesy of Nekton / XL Catlin Deep Ocean Survey. Thanks also to Alex4D.

I would have a panic attack if the lights turned off. This will challenge your anxiety level lol

This gives me anxiety but it's very interesting

Since after the Titan submersible implosion a week ago, understandably more interest to watch documentaries about Titanic, Ocean floors, and submersibles is generated.

Imagine having a panic attack in that thing down there mixed with some claustrophobia you never knew you had

I find the ocean fascinating, but I'd never attempt deep sea diving. That's amazing technology and two very brave guys.

It takes a special breed of people to do this stuff.

I would dare to go to the space but not down to the deep ocean. I’m scared of water. Can’t breath. But there is vacuum in the space and also cannot breath... I can’t explain why I feel this way.

The sinking part & looking up to the light getting farther away is like the nightmares I have of drowning! I cannot dive or really swim because of that fear!

This is one of those things that I desperately want to do, but also do not want to do at all at the same time

What an honor! Thanks for taking me along for the ride! Far too claustrophobic for me but I love seeing it all

The ocean is fantastic for those who have never traveled on the high seas. The natural power of the ocean is something that is simply amazing! I have traveled both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans several times and never experienced all the different sunsets!

That looks like fun. Nowhere near as scary as being locked up in a small tube with a tiny window, four other people, no way to open it from the inside, and 2.4 miles under the surface.
