A silhouette stands in the still night air, watching two moons: one in the sky; one in the lake below.

Thank you for listening!

This sounds spectacular; I really like the modulations and dissonances that appear from time to time, it is very enriching musically, it gives colour and depth. There is a lot of lyricism and instrospection. I've just discovered your music, now I become a new subscriber to your channel n.n

i feel like moonlight and melancholia could be related somehow, like two sides of the same coin, or perhaps like a side and a side b tape. the beginning melodies sound so similar im hearing them both as a distant memory! stunning compositions as usual!

Very beautiful and smooth music ! I Do you write the music before playing it or does it come from a sort of improvisation ?

It may be a strange question but as a composer I wonder, did you kinda "forcefully" insert compound time signatures and time signature changes in general as an exercise or just for the sake of it or did it just come to you naturally as you were writing the piece?
Also, even tho I, in general, don't particularly like modern, romantic-like, melancholic pieces I did enjoy listening to this one :) Thanks for sharing you work and don't ever give up on composing!

Hey, I really admire your use of harmony, meter, and rhythms to really achieve the impression of moonlight. Fantastic work, really :)

I'm a self-taught musician and have recently started to compose music. At first, I stressed that compositions must stick to conventional music theory because I like Classical and Romantic music (Haydn, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Brahm, etc.) but - and ive only just figured this out last night - music does not have to be symmetrical. In fact, the greatest music ever composed is usually asymmetrical. Going on a lil bit of a tangent here, but i read one of your replies on how you compose and we really have pretty much the exact same approach 😂! Just thought that was cool.

Also, I just wanted to ask: how long did it take you to compose this piece, and how much have you delved into the theory side of things throughout your time becoming a musician?

Also, just wanted to share this new "philosophy" I created with you. It all came from feedback i received from my teacher at school on regard to composition. I handed in nothing for a draft and she said "maybe you can add x, y, z to do..." i appreciate the feedback because she was very thorough, but it made me realise something. Music is not just about "adding" a bunch of ingredients and hoping for the best; theres no checklist that one must use to make music. Rather, ive discovered that music will create itself. Sound cliche? YES, but its true. Obviously the composer will create the music, but there is a certain direction that music wants to take. Not sure if this happens with you, but whenever I try composing something, or even just writing a note, my brain will make the sounds in my head and make me write. Its hard to explain, but its almost like certain music is "supposed" to be composed... idk.

Big tangent there 😂. One more thing. Do you have perfect pitch? If not, apparently theres something called true pitch that can be developed that requires you to memorise notes. True pitch + amazing relayove pitch ≈ perfect pitch (in a nutshell). Ive learnt middle C off by heart and all it took was a few hours of listening to the frequency with headphones on while doing schoolwork/playing games and humming the solfa! Do-ooohhh. :).

Sorry, but i guess what im trying to say is that i loved your piece and im going to continue looking at your compositions. Im actually going to meet two internationally recognised musicians to do a workshop with them for my music extension class. Very excited. LOVE YOUR PIECE LMAO

One more thing, i promise 😅. How did you gain the courage to make your own music? I struggled with the courage to experiement. gtg, thanks

Great piece, thanks for sharing ! Who inspires you, generally speaking ? What advice would you like to share with beginner composers ?

Also, do you plan to do more orchestral works ?

Thank you :)
