A marvelous song. Reminds me of when I was a young boy in the late 1970s, I remember my cousin playing this record quite often.

I was 16 y/o when this song was published, and my name is Sue.
And if I had a dollar for every guy who learned my name back in the day who then used the ""My name is Sue, how do you do?", I would be a millionaire today.
Hell some guys still try to be funny and use that as a pickup line. LOL!!!

Thanks for showing the lyrics to “A Boy Named Sue”. I always wondered what the bleep was. SiriusXM 60s Gold plays the song with the bleep in it toward the end. I mean, is that music channel for the whole family? No bothering by the FCC because it’s satellite radio, not government regulated (FCC) radio!

Very well done! I love thesimple, plain black and white lyrics too...I still don't understand why so many people feel the need to "decorate" and color the lyrics on so many videos! Omg, I feel like I'm in 1st grade reading in crayon! The hideous purple, pinks and blues must make them feel creative I guess....hahahaha. LOVE YOURS! Thanks.

While hospitalized at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Cash died of complications from diabetes at approximately 2:00 a.m. CT on September 12, 2003—less than four months after his wife. It was suggested[by whom?] that Johnny's health worsened due to a broken heart over June's death.[62][63] He was buried next to his wife in Hendersonville Memory Gardens near his home in Hendersonville, TN.
I am glad his pain did not last too long.
He died of a broken heart.

I love old country. It’s like they’re telling a story

Back in the mid-60s was when I first heard this wonderful song as a kid. Hearing him sing "son-of-a-bitch" just adds poignancy to the tune. I hate people who edit that phrase out.

Thanks.. Also when other people put lyrics that are way out of sync to the song itself is a pain in the arse! haha... But thanks! :)
