Just realized I had a couple small mistakes; all of which attribute to my clutterbrained mind and lack of double checking facts, apologies about that. With that being said, I think the video still has a lot of value and merit to it, so I will be leaving it up, so I think it serves as a great tool for people who don't understand much about the differences in 35mm cameras and the purchasing process.

Editor's Notes*
Contax G2 IS NOT an SLR, rather the world's most glorified rangefinder camera.
XA2 is NOT a range finder like it's first camera, rather it's a point and shoot camera.

This is such a great overview into film photography for beginners! Also good Camera recommendations. I don’t know how this doesn’t have way more views. Keep it up :)

So we’ll done man, this is a great guide. Especially since you broke down suggestions for each category. I’ll use this in a lot of the forums I’m in and share it.

Great vid but the contax g2 isn’t an slr and the olympus xa 2 isn’t a rangefinder (only the original xa was an actual rangefinder). But great vid nonetheless

Getting into film can be tough cause there's a handful of cameras that everyone uses because they're pretty and their prices are atrocious, while other cameras that are as good or even better, are sitting on eBay and selling for dirt. I don't get the appeal of a Contax G2, Yashica T4, Olympus clamshell, Canon AE-1 and many others... I got a Yashica FX3 with a Tamron 24/2.5 for my street photography for about $100 and I wouldn't change it for anything else.
