The Biggest Lie In NFL History...

The 1972 Miami Dolphins have long been crowned as the undisputed best team in NFL history, but personally, I've never believed that at all, and in this video, I'm going to prove that we've been lied to for too long; the Dolphins are overrated. Other teams such as Tom Brady's New England Patriots and even a Dolphins team that came afterwards are all signciantly better than this team, and simply because they won every game, that does not make the Dolphins the best team ever and maybe by the end of this video, you'll agree with me as well. Anyway, if you enjoyed this video at all then like and comment if you want, and you can even subscribe if you think I've earned it.

Goober is gonna get the 72 dolphins to curse the Raiders more than they already are

Like he says, it’s all about framing.

“The Dolphins barely beat the Vikings in one of the worst games of Fran Tarkenton’s career.”
vs.
“The ‘72 Dolphins defense was so dominant that they forced Fran Tarkenton into one of the worst games of his career.”

The dolphins from 1971-1973 went 44-6-1 went to three Super Bowls and won two. That's one of the best stretches in football history, post merger

As a Giants fan, I love to say that the 07 Patriots are the greatest, just so I can say that we beat the greatest team of all time

Outlets also always neglect to mention that the 1972 Dolphins had gone undefeated AND won back to back Super Bowls as well!

17-0 is a ridiculous stat in today's nfl. Teams now have to play 17 games in the regular season now, so I believe no one will ever go undefeated again.

It should also be said that the NE Patriots in 2007 were very fortunate to go 16-0 in their season too. In a tough game with Baltimore the Ravens stuffed them on 4th down at the end of the 4th quarter when the pats were down. They would've lost but the Ravens own coach inexplicably called a time out right when the play was snapped and it canceled the stop. They were even stopped on 4th down two more times during that same drive, but were saved by penalties. AND the Ravens caught a hail mary, but it was caught 1 yard short of the endzone, and there was no time left to kick a field goal.

I'm fine with teams like 85 Bears, 78 Steelers, 89 49ers, or even like 04 Patriots being put over the 72 Dolphins as the best team of all time.

But I patently reject ever giving that label to the 07 Patriots. The best team of all time can't be one that lost the most important game on their schedule. A 15-1 team that wins the SB (like the 85 Bears) is much better than a 16-0 team that loses the SB. No one would choose to be the latter. I don't care that they blew out teams when the games didn't matter as much. They didn't win the most important game. And they lost to a plucky underdog, not even a historically great squad, so there's no excuse

In the playoffs, "...did they rise to the occasion? Well, not really." Then proceed to lay out how they came up clutch when it counted to win those games. Dude, c'mon.

91 redskins are the best. 07 pats are a close second.

Point to remember; had the Immaculate Deception been called correctly, the Dolphins would've faced the Raiders in the AFC Championship game. Back then there was some odd rule that meant the Raiders would've hosted (no, I don't understand it either). The 70s Dolphins NEVER beat the Raiders in Oakland. I don't think they would've won this time either. And you're smoking something strong if you think Washington would've stood a chance against a pissed off Raiders squad.

Too many "ifs" in this exposition. It sort of reminds me of Nick Wright and his plethora of "could'ves", "should'ves" and would'ves".

Listen, as a dolphins fan who just wants a division championship. Don't take this away from me. Even if I was negative 24.

I don't know if they are the greatest team of all time. But it's the greatest team accomplishment of all time.

The Dolphins didn't "barely hang on" against the Steelers. They were comfortably ahead in the 2nd half, and Pittsburgh got a circus catch to make it close. Watch the entire game if you can. The Steelers benefitted from a hometown call on a fumble by one of their backs (maybe Franco). If you want to play the what if game, at least try to be balanced. Every bad play by the opponents is because they were inept (Phipps' INTs), not because the Dolphins D was suffocating? C'mon man. You cite Bradshaw being hurt, but then seem to conveniently forget that the Dolphins played most of the season with a 38-year-old backup. Dude.

I don't care if it was a fraud undefeated season or not, I just wish I could see the dolphins be consistently competitive in the playoffs like they were back then. The tua flip a coin of an injury ridden season or passing yard leader has been edging me too long
