I was born and raised in Idaho. I live in Arizona now, they tried to give us CA style gun control. When they filed the bill about 3, 000 of us pissed off citizens showed up and had an armed protest on the state house steps.
The bill was withdrawn the next day.

As an Alabama resident, I was very happy to hear we made the top spot on your list. Very cool!

I'm currently in Oklahoma, very 2A friendly!

Wyoming. Same thing as alabama. They passed a law that makes it illegal for state and local pd to enforce unconstitutional gun laws.

One of the main reasons I moved from CA to Idaho. No regrets

There is one law that Oklahoma has enacted that should vault the state to the top of the 2A friendliest list. It is SB 1081, the Anti-Red Flag Law. Authored by State Senator Nathan Dahm, it was signed into law by Gov. Kevin Stitt on May 19th, 2020, going into effect immediately upon the Governor's signature. The law prohibits the state or any city, county or political subdivision from enacting red flag laws. It also prohibits the acceptance of any grants or funding to enact red flag laws. As far as I know, Oklahoma is the only state in the Union with such a law.

West Virgina. Constitutional carry, very pro 2A and their knife laws are excellent

As a lifetime Idaho resident I am proud of our state for its 2A stance. I am concerned looking forward, that with all the newcomers looking for Idaho to become their refuge from Blue State politics that they may actively seek to fundamentally change our core values here in Idaho. Not on my watch!

Montana resident here, moved from Nevada in 2021. State enacted Constitutional Carry that year as well. I believe that (not 100% certain) it has the highest proportion of ownership of any state in the US. It's a great 2A community up here. Thanks William.

Surprised that NH didn't make your list. We have stand your ground laws and con. carry. I have lived here for 72 years and have never had any gun issue. semper fi

I'm thinking Oklahoma is a good contender as well

I love Idaho, they are definitely towards the top.

Isn't Missouri up there too?
If I recall correctly, they have all the same stuff you were saying about Alabama, plus they have a law that makes any local law enforcement civil liability if they enforcement infringements.

I agree with you and I live in Idaho and I think it’s one of the best states to live in if you are red if you are blue drive on by lol.

Oklahoma has the same thing as Alabama. I think it's called a 2a sanctuary state

Gonna have to disagree. Missouri, my Home, has SAPA that includes a massive fine if our law enforcement goes against MO law. We've told the Feds to piss off. We are the only State with that degree of protection plus everything else you mentioned. Change my mind 😁

Kentucky is favorable

Constitutional carry
No permitting for any kind of purchases
No private sale restrictions
No mag restrictions
No arbitrary ammo tax

Alaskan resident here, we've had Constitutional Carry since 2004 and was adopted as a state law so residents living in the smaller villages throughout the state can legally possess and carry without having to travel to the state's larger towns and cities to take the required firearms training course to obtain a permit. The cities and municipalities are prohibited from enacting laws that are stricter than state law as well. We love our firearms here and for many residents its simply way of life because much of the state is covered in untamed wilderness with plenty of dangerous wildlife lurking around.

Arizona has always been purple but we are very pro 2A. Arizona was one of the first states to have constitutional carry. And our state house and senate is still republican controlled.
