Ticketmaster’s parent company, Live Nation, confirmed it found “unauthorized activity” on its database on May 20.

Why is it that when a big company like Ticket Master has a data breach, what's considered "making me whole" is a free ONE year subscription to an identity theft monitoring website? My social security number, birthday, and everything is permanent. They'll stay the same even after I die.

Pardon me for sounding like a Boomer for a moment: I miss the days when stores sold concert tickets. I would save my chore money and dad would take me to (I forget which department store it was exactly) and I’d buy a ticket for myself with cash. Dad would do the same. I don’t think you even had to give your name back then (80s & 90s)!

Except it has nothing to do with two factor authentication. It's about corporations collecting and data and not securing it properly. Over and over and over again.

I had $6K stolen electronically. It took 3X as long to get it back. I use biometrics now ON EVERYTHING.

Nowadays you have to assume anytime you give your info to a company it will be breached at some point. These hackers don’t care the damage they do to people’s lives when the info they steal and sell are used in nefarious ways.
