Working with a Very large Marble Tile 2'x4' How It's Done In this video I show you what it takes to prep a very large 2 foot by 4 foot (2'x4') marble tile for install. This one tile is going to be installed on a cabinet top, so the exterior front facing edge needed to be polished, in this video I demonstrate how to do that. Then I show what it takes to bring it upstairs and then prep to get it ready to set on the cabinet top. First I test fit, then remove it set it upside down, being sure not to scratch the delicate surface of the soft marble tile. Next is flat troweling the stone to key in the mortar, as well as applying the thinset to the cabinet top to prepare to set the tile. I also talk about the importance of directional troweling. Finally I show the end result. Very large tiles are difficult and heavy to work with, it is best to have help to install these very large tiles, it is essential for tiles large than the one in this video. For those who use Diamond Polishing Pads, I recommend buying a grinder with variable speed, this will greatly simplify the work. I usually polish at 2k to 4k speed.

Im pretty sure the pores was full dust from the cutting because he did not clean the back of the marble
