If we cant agree with the EU rules and standards that we have been forced to follow for all these years, then It just goes to show how much we needed to leave the EU. If we were having it so good within the EU, then each side would agree to everything we already have in place.

Michel Barnier is clearly under instruction from EU. There seem to be sticking points between EU and UK . 1) The level playing field. Can Barnier or anyone else explain exactly what is meant by a level playing field ( leading to fair competition ) a) What is the UK response to their term for a level playing field? It sounds like there is little to fear from this, so why is the UK refusing to agree to it? 2) State Aid. The UK is generally not a supporter of large injections of capital into failing companies in the form of State Aid, so once again what is the UK response to this term, it doesnt sound unpalatable? 3) Fisheries. Its possible to see why there is conflict between UK and EU. We want to take back control of our territorial waters in full, because of sovereignty and independence, the EU doesnt want to lose the ability to fish in our waters. But Lord Frost has offered a transition period and the fishing industry would become a growth industry outside the CFP. The EU wants no impact on its fishing industry, but that is inevitable given that the UK is becoming more independent. The EU wants to have its cake and eat it on this topic. Seems to me that intransigence on both sides is blocking progress.

As long as those demands are agreed with all other Trade deals with other sovereign countries.... I think the EU likes fishcakes!

As soon as the vote was in all agreements and treaties with the EU became void, hence the pendulum swung to no deal! The default position. We have been stuck at no deal for 4 years.

The platform for negotiations on both sides is no deal. The question is whether the both parties can agree a better, more efecient flow of trade than WTO. Bearing in mind that the UK retains the freedom and sovereignty that we will have under no deal.

The UK will be an Independent country. Without EU control. WTO if you dont allow the UK to contol its own laws and rules and regulations. UK waters. NO LEVEL PLAYING FIELD.

The problem is England want's to lower workers rights and food standards. EU can't allow that and still give England access to the single market. They can not give one member of the single market an unfair advantage concerning workforce or product safety fx. wastewaters from factories needs to meet certain standards in the EU. Factories and workforce needs to live up to the same minimum standards. If England want to raise those standards, then it wouldn't be a problem.
