New Alternate Ending To The Lost World: Jurassic Park Novel Revealed!

Here we talk about the alternate ending to The Lost World novel that just got revealed. This Jurassic Park book would have ended very differently compared to what the dinosaur novel is now. I know it's odd but I can't help but feel Crichton's philosophy is that extinction is inevitable when it comes to the dinosaurs while I prefer how the movies in a way took it (and to an extent of course the novels since some escaped to the mainland) that de-extinction and thus survival is inevitable hence "Something has Survived".

Before finding out his name, the enigmatic character in the alternate ending draft gives off a really eerie quality like a character from a supernatural horror novel, it reminds me of the green flame mystery from the discarded Jurassic Park sequel comics.

The alternate alternate alternate ending to The Lost World film: An aged InGen employee on the ship is standing on the deck, en route to Isla Sorna. Dozens of American navy vessels on the waters around them. Another man rushes up to him, a clipboard in hand and a look of fright on his face.

"Sir! There was another one!"
"Another what, son? There's no way there was another rex, we would have seen it."
"Not a t-rex, sir, look at the manifest!"

The confused look on the older man shifted to one of concern. On the paper, right below the adult buck's numerical designation was a similar though different number. The employees knew what the designation translated to: adult female velociraptor.

Made me think oh damn, John Hammond cloned himself!

Before the big reveal, I honestly thought the mystery man was going to be Hammond. I mean, I suppose it's _kind_ of plausible that somebody rescued him before the Compies killed him, and, like Dr. Malcolm, the press simply got it wrong and he retreated to Sorna.

I do see why Crichton cut it out, though. While I confess that I do like the idea of somebody living by themselves on the island as a sort of caretaker, making it Wu's suddenly-appearing brother felt kinda out of left field. And it would have been nice to have a little more build-up outside of Arby hacking into the systems and Eddie's offhand comment about how maybe there are still people on Sorna.

It is ironic that in this verson of the book there is a character who is Henry Wu's brother, and in lego Lost World Jeffery Wu, is Henry Wu's cousin.

This would have made an interesting ending to The Lost World novel and movie, sad it never got added into the final copy.

I really liked the Original Ending
The InGen dinosaurs roaming calmly; the InGen(tm) Tyrannosaurus family all happily parenting; and the InGen Pterosaur roars... it was very conclusive.

I’m currently midway through rewatching your Trespasser playlist, and I wanted to let you know, Klayton, that I’m making a story based off Jurassic World, and, for the introduction to the story, I’m using the Hammond memoirs from Trespasser, and retooling them to fit more into the movie canon. Like, replacing “Norman” and “Atherton” with “Benjamin” and “Lockwood”, respectively. I’m also fixing the dates in the memoirs. My story isn’t canon by a long shot, but I’m still using a lot of plot points from the movies to help make the story feel like it could be turned into something completely canon.

Reading this lost text from a Crichton JP novel has to be the most HYPE thing I’ve seen in years. AMAZING find and so grateful to our source here. Even though the “lost brother who’s just lived here” thing is pretty cheesy, I admire how unexpected and different it is compared to the pretty pedestrian ending the novel ultimately gave us.
