One of his favorite combinations involves doubling or tripling his lead hand, such as hooking to the head and immediately following with a hook to the body.

Number 3 - Feinting. He uses feints to set up his punches and measure his opponents' reactions. By changing the level of his lead hand and using foot feints, Canelo creates uncertainty and openings for his attacks. His elaborate right-hand feint sets up power left hooks or uppercuts, leaving opponents hesitant and vulnerable to his punches. Make sure to include feints into your boxing.

Number 4 - counterpunching. Canelo slips jabs and counters with powerful right hands, often catching opponents off guard. Another counter he employs is the pull counter. Canelo's defensive moves after each counter ensure that he stays one step ahead of his opponents.

Number 5 - footwork and use of pressure. He possesses a strong base and balance in his footwork and applies pressure on his opponents by slowly walking them down with small steps, a tight high guard, and moving his upper body over his front foot.
