Part four of four of a series where I explore the possibility to use the user port on an old Commodore 64 8-bit computer from the 80-s, to communicate with other electronic devices, self made or for example an Arduino device.

In this part I program the C64 using basic to send text messages to an LCD display via an Arduino. I also program the C64 to use a joystick to draw on an OLED display via an Arduino. I explain how the communication works, show how to connect everything, and how to program it in both the Arduino and the Commodore.

Electronicts kits I have purchased:

Hi Tommy, Finally got around to watching this video. Don't know why I waited so long. Very educational and enjoyable. Defiantly going to to experiment with this one. Keep up the great work.

Loved this one too. Well done. Worked with a similar LCD panel about 20 years ago on an embedded linux product we were making. This looked way more fun ☺️

These are great videos. Thank you. Do you have any videos about sending out serial data from the C64 User Port?

If schools would teach stuff like this many folks would become programmers and teachers having fun on their old breadbins. I have a similar touch-lcd by the way. It stopped working recently. Might have to check for this adress thing according to your experience. Maybe some lib update made this display incompatible, touch function still working.

Ok it looks like better without a extra controller like the arduino
Put the LCD on the Userport and Program itself ;)
