Now you're playing with...arbitrary. ;) That'd be a Famiclone controller, often DB-9s, didn't know you could buy them separately though, I like the Turbo button design with the 4 buttons, heh yeah can't expect too much from them.
Found it, pretty good pinout guide, you should add a link for it in the description. Good on them using a PotX option in SMB64, P-X & P-Y have just been sitting there unused as buttons for decades now on 2600 and C64. Nice use of the Turbo buttons, that's always the rub of making Up as a button where it can only apply to the C64 mostly. Perfect solution, great job.

I did this with an original controller last year then saw Adrian's Digital Basement did the same. But that version would not work with Mario Brothers as you need a run button. I will consider a clone controller or I might just convert another NES controller just for that game. I don't have any feelings for NES but the controllers are good (hence I don't mind butchering original controllers) but I do have feelings for early Commodores. Keep up the good work.

Does the POTx when held allow for speed run or “super jump” when getting flag?

Can’t remember how original button layout was on Nintendo.

Nes uses only 4-5 wires atari/C= 8 or 9 wires. Basicly they work different.

11:30 ...complains that the Atari joystick cable only has six wires...not realizing it's exactly the six he needs...
