Why has the middle class virtually disappeared? BECAUSE OF ALL THE TAX BREAKS AND LOOPHOLES GIVEN TO THE WEALTHY.
True dog-in-the-manger behavior: These people have more than they can spend in a lifetime, with even larger amounts coming in every day, yet they will not give up one iota of it.
The 1%-ers income for a single year would be enough to get every adult in the entire country into a stable situation. The elderly could get necessary home repairs. People could avoid foreclosures and repossessions. The economy could recover( providing there are caps placed on essentials, such as housing, & food, so the greedy ones stop gouging)
If TWO of the 1%ers donated a single year's income, everyone could be provided with a healthcare program that works( again, provided that there is a cap placed on costs to prevent gouging)
This will never happen, however. Not only will they hang on to income they do not need, whatever entity was assigned to provide fair distribution of funds would have its own share to skim off, & favoritism would skew the resulting assistance once again...
This country's wealth disparity gap is appalling, & gets worse every day.
And how many politicians and lawmakers are living on, say, $50, 000/yr? THAT would be an interesting study... 😕
