The dice is inside out. He inserts the red ball into the dice while returning the dice to its proper form. The hole is on the 1 (opposite to 6)

Probably his hand is hiding the 2 or 4. After that he hid the red ball inside thru where 1 should be located xD

Also there are some red pieces left where the number 4 is.
