A best practise is to not attend to Outland, Tower, expeditions, dungeon crawling, and dailies used in events, until the evening.

Alter your routine on the last day of an event: make it part of your morning routine to see which events are finishing, and then attend to those tasks.

It feels much more logical and intuitive this way, as opposed to finding out what to do during the morning of the day when the event starts.
