I read that in used car sales repossession is getting up to three times for the same car. It's a problem is they're selling cars still too high it needs to go down way down.

My kid had the misfortune of totaling her car. The number of trash cars I looked at for $9k was mind-boggling. $10k cars from Vermont looked like the bottom would fall out. Ended up with a 2012 Accord w/no rust but some issues for $8k. Holy geebus!

True that repos may glut the market and drive down the average cost of the used market but you stand a chance of buying a trashed repo that wasn’t taken care of. Dealers don’t willingly tell you that the car you are buying was neglected or abused by the previous owner.

Wouldnt be a problem if it wasnt for terrible car prices in the first place. I was looking at a Camry at work today, 2023 xse, and it had four little leds under the car. How much did that option cost? 550 dollars, enough said.

The bank sent me a pre approval letter to buy a car for $50K at 6% apr. Only $850 a month they say. I say Tha Heck ya say?! Gone are the days of the $300 monthly payment. I'm not surprised repos are up.

Banks right now are loving it. With the prices of cars right now they're making money reselling them.

One of the local dealers has an average pickup sitting on the lot with the weekly payment decaled on the side. I did the math, $80k. 10 years ago you could have cut a cheque for $32k and drove it home.

Just because a car is repossessed doesn't mean the car prices will drop when the market is flooded because companies selling these cars are greedy and they ask top dollar for them.
