Phil’s daughter whispering Doritos and Fritos lyrics into his ear put the absolute largest smile on my face and made me tear up a little

Knowing how much Fantano like Phil’s music, he had to be geeking out over this one.

Phil is a hero, not in the glamorous way of being indestructible; he's human and part of the beauty of his songs, at least for me, is that given his sincerity they're extremely relatable and really give us that feeling of not being the only ones to feel that way, but with this guy it's just true. He's like an uncle that lived a big life and gives you some advice from time to time. I don't know where I'd be if it wasn't for this man's music. I hope he's doing well

People always remember A Crow Looked At Me, but his work as The Microphones is frankly the most incredible stuff I’ve ever heard. The Glow Part 2 and the Mount Eerie album are musical perfection.

I would hate to be Phil Elverum, everybody in the comments reminding him that his wife died. It was six years ago guys let the man move on as best he can and listen to his new stuff

Phil has the most comforting voice I’ve ever heard. I love this man

Phil has always been open to pop culture (or more specifically not closed off to any culture, pop or not) and I think more "serious indie artists" should be that way. Phil, Genevieve and Adrian Orange (of Thanksgiving) stayed the night at my house after a show in Phoenix, AZ in 2005 and after looking at our mountain of "hip/artsy" DVDs and VHS tapes picked Mean Girls to watch (being one of the only titles that our non-hipster roommate had provided to the collection) and said it was one of his favorite movies. I'll never forget that, lol. Genevieve looked at him like he was crazy when he was cracking up during the movie. Great memories.

A Crow Looked at Me is the only time I’ve teared up while listening to music. Having lost my dad from a terminal illness (MSA), it hits even harder. It’s good to see Phil doing well, and I think he’s more at peace with things

Phil's daughter being into 100 Gecs is the energy I need to carry me through the rest of the month

Am i the only one here who doesn't see him as the "sad album guy" and just got psyched that we are given another interview with the genius that crafted The Glow Pt 2, Mount Eerie, Sauna, Lost Wisdom, TMI2020, etc?

Met the man himself after the Grand Rapids gig a few months ago. Easily the nicest guy I’ve ever met. And of course, he put on one of the coolest shows ever. Never became a big corporate artist who was shoving himself in yr face all the time, just does what he wants and doesn’t care who listens but is really glad people do. He deserves all the praise he’ll ever get.
