I love how both Spear and Fang never scream in terror during the entire chase. They're so focused on just getting the fuck away from that... thing, that they literally have no time to despite their visible terror.

I love the expressions of Fang and Spear. Just how accurately they convey the pure WTF of the situation

Of all the predators and big alpha mammals they fought, it was this supposedly "gentle herbivore" that scared them the most.

The only thing that could have made this scene better would be if Spear hadn't dropped his spear, and once he hopped on fang he threw it at the sauropod's head, only for it to do nothing and would stay stuck in its face for the rest of the episode. Would help drive home how terrifying and unnatural the plague of madness is, as even at their best, Spear and Fang simply cannot fight it and can only hope to run away.

One detail I like is that if this was any ordinary creature, that fall would have absolutely broken its spine, lodged its ribs into its lungs, brained it, or even just broken its legs. And Spear and Fang think for a moment that it might be dead as it very well should be. As anything would have died from that.
And it looks like that might be the case, until its eye widens and it rises up again.

That's the moment the audience is told very clearly that this plague, or whatever it is... is not natural. It's supernatural

So infected seem to just act like a regular corpse until a human or other dinosaur comes around. Reminds of the clickers from the last of us

I'm still amazed at how well Spear and Fang managed to outrun and avoid that infected beast.

Im guessing that up till now, the sauropod still had some brain control left, since all it did was try to kill and not infect other creatures, including Spear and Fang. After it gets knocked out (can you even knock a zombie unconscious) the virus has all night to take over its brain, which is why it switched to trying to bite Spear and Fang later on.

When the sauropod got back up and started bashing it's body against the rocky walls.
I like to think there was a bit of the same peaceful sauropod still conscious in it's mind, but it's lost control of it's body. Yet somehow it's trying to fight back, fighting against the infection and knocking itself out to prevent more death and painful self-harm

The pure terror and panic of spear and fang in the cave after where they both are taking heaving breaths is amazing. Weve seen them run from danger before, but it was always like they were confident still, in this chase they literally are running with pure fear and helplessness
