Thank you for joining us as we journey through the great book of Exodus. We recorded 16 episodes, plus a finale, over two ten-day sessions, one in 2022 and one in 2023, releasing them initially on the DailyWire+ platform. After some careful deliberation, the DW+ executive team and Dr. Peterson decided to make them available to everyone on YouTube. We will therefore release one per week for 17 weeks, each Monday, and then keep them all there for a few weeks, before returning to the paywalled system (although episode 1 will remain permanently available).

Often, our freedom of choice keeps us from claiming the freedom God offers. As the round table in Exodus chapters seven through nine discuss, Pharaoh's refusal to let the Israelites leave is at the center of the conversation. Power, the desire to change, and the significance of the plagues are also discussed.

Thank you very much to all the participants: Dr. Os Guiness, Dr. Douglas Hedley, Dr. James Orr, Dr. Larry Arnn, Gregg Hurwitz, Ben Shapiro, Dr. Dennis Prager, Dr. Stephen Blackwood, Jonathan Pageau, and Dr. Jordan B. Peterson.

Miracle do produce faith. One of the method of teaching Jesus used in engaging with the people was embodying his teaching with signs and wonders(miracles).
Some bible text says and when they saw it, they marveled and believed. Faith is believing in the finish work of Christ.

And when Jesus sent out his disciples, he said I gave you power to do signs and wonders.

...how does this collection of Bible scholars NOT know why words are italicized in the Bible??? The simple reason is this: the compilers of KJV & NKJV wanted readers to know every time the translators messed with the original manuscript in the tiniest manner, in order to be strictly faithful to the inspired Word. Therefore, every time they were forced to insert a word into the
text (usually in order to make a sensible English sentence), they italicized every word that doesn't appear in the manuscript. You'll frequently see various forms of the verb "to be" italicized because Hebrew grammar doesn't require this verb in a sentence like "Isaiah is a prophet;" instead you would just see "Isaiah a prophet." -- so the Bible translators put IS in italics to let you know this word is foreign to the original text!

I complexly agree with previous comment: Jordan Peterson, and a panel of experts, discussing the Bhagavad Gita, Dhammapada or the Koran, would be fabulous.

I was reading that the actual translation of "hardening of the heart" is actually that God allowed it to happen, not that he caused it to happen.

my goodness lol; the italicized words in the KJV are words that are not in the original Hebrew that were added to make the translation make sense. very simple explanation.

The backdrop looks like Fluid Stone. Nice, since that's a main theme.

The repeated extension of God's mercy to him by the lifting of plague after plague did not soften the Egyptian ruler, but as is usual in the case of bullies and tyrants this forbearance only made Pharaoh more intolerable, brought to the fore all the more his bullying characteristics.

Now Jehovah did not actually harden the heart of Pharaoh so that Pharaoh lost his free will in the matter. His heart hardened because of the message declared to him by Moses and Aaron. It was what caused him to react in hard stubbornness and anger. But since the message Moses and Aaron declared was really Jehovah's message, the account says Jehovah hardened his heart.

Would be really interesting to hear about how Russia like Hitler Germany is Egypt in a sense. And to understand what is driving the people.
