Apocalypse Now is a beautiful cohesive story that can actually be followed without knowing about the production at all.
Megalopolis is incomprehensible and the only way to truly understand it is to know the context around it. It exists as a weird footnote, not a movie that can hold itself through the test of time on its own volition

People crap on him for saying the film will be better received later on, but I honestly agree. The film is far from perfect, but it’s not bad. I think it will be looked back on similar to something like Fear and Loathing or Scorsese’s After Hours.

It's amazing how Coppola is not aware that his movie is bad.

First time in absolute ages where I did actually feel compelled enough to go back & see a film a second time in theaters.

People complain all the time about a lack of originality in films today. And yet when something original does come out, those same people don’t get out and see it. Don’t complain about a “lack of originality” if you refuse to support original films.
