EXCLUSIVE: Shannen Doherty Reveals Her Dog Was the First to Detect Her Breast Cancer

Doherty sat down with ET's Jennifer Peros about her brave breast cancer battle and how her dog Bowie has become protective of her.

As someone who was diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer in 2020 my senior cat was the one who made me feel something wasn’t right with my health. He would wake me up by laying on top of my chest and bore on my right side where the lump was located and he’s never done that before. After my double mastectomy and 3 more breast reconstruction surgeries he would still lay on top of my chest as if he was making me feel better but once I was healed up and in remission he doesn’t do it as much anymore ❤

Dogs can detect cancer and all leading scientists have determined so. There was a recent study done testing the urine of those with cancer vs. those without using dogs and the dogs were able to pinpoint with a 99.5% accuracy which urine samples were from those with cancer. Just one of the many reasons dogs are so special. Hoping and wishing nothing but the best for Ms. Doherty.

Shannen Doherty had the prettiest hair and it was so long and I remember her in BH 90210 days back in 1990 the show wasn't the same without her! I wish her all the best in her recovery! Its hard to believe this has happened to her and during her interview she is honest and real! I hope she can get through this!
