Driving My CL65 AMG 700 Miles Home Was A Total Nightmare But I Fixed A Major Issue With NO TOOLS!

I bought Hoovies Garage CL65 AMG and I can't believe it survived CarTrek. I bought the car knowing the twin-turbo V12 had a bad oil leak and that the hydraulic suspension was leaking but so much more broke on the trip it was ridiculous. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show!

What's the most miles you've driven during 1 road trip and what kind of car? 1991 Jamaica Yellow Firebird, 2, 100 miles.

Bought for $13, 500, spent $7000 fixing it, sold for $10, 000. After watching this video, I've never been more thrilled to take a $10, 000 loss.

The guy on the radio was foretelling how much it will cost to maintain a CL65.

All these years I’ve never understood what rest was on my climate control!!! Thank you for finally explaining what this does. Very cool!

I'm impressed you figured that out. Water in fuel from the pump not an obvious issue.

Clearly he was talking about annual maintenance costs on a CL65 AMG when mentioning $50, 000/year.

Lucy, for when your AMG has to stop every few hours for a smoke break.

Full tank of gas, it's sunny out, you're not wearing sun glasses & it's 3hrs 26 min to Chicago. Hit it!

Truly one of the most beautiful cars ever! My 2003 is the best, most fun car I've owned. Very low miles, still so no issues. Perhaps when Hoovie drove it as an off-road tank stuff got "challenged". Still worth fixing and driving.

Loving your vids man. My late father was a mechanic in the US Army. Was in WW II and Korea. He and my mom traveled the world. He mainly worked on trucks. Those big things of that era used to transport troops and equipment/supplies. He retired shortly after I was conceived. Moved my mom home and purchased a farm to raise beef cattle. So I got to help him work on all sorts of tractors, trucks, farm equipment. Even did a brake job on the car once. I learned a LOT, but didn't realize it till years later. Look forward to seeing your future projects!

I love how the sign at the gas station said "is your gas helping your engine or ruining it"😄 how apropos

That was a great adventure. It is always stressful doing those kind of trips, but it makes for an entertaining video. Look forward to seeing you bring this one back to what it should be.

What a crazy time, but I'm glad we made it home!! The flight there was far smoother than the drive home 🤣

I am late catching this video but I sure could sense that fear of breaking down in the middle of nowhere, forgetting what you are drinking and grabbing onto any signs of making it! For sure having a travel buddy helps big time.

It was at that moment he knew, he fucked up

Bless you Alex for saving this car and taking the huge monumental task of sorting it out. Good luck. Looking forward to the videos.

This feels like the modern day Blair witch project of hoopties.

You sir are brave for driving that home, and in the snow no less. I had a W215 CL500 and I was always afraid the ABC system would piss itself one day, which it eventually did. I converted to coilovers and never worried about it after that.
