They saw it for twenty minutes and none of them took a picture? They were specifically there to investigate that area. They’d definitely have both photo and video cameras with them.

Looks like a river bed possibly once existed? 🤔
That would be a good reason.
Plus the protection from the mountain from some wind.
Also possibly wildlife if there was infact water???

David Morehouse's book, "PSYCHIC WARRIOR" is a fascinating true story. After being accidently shot (one inch above the eye in a military exercise,
-the bullet lodged into his Kevlar helmet. The resulting contusion on his head almost immediately changed his perception of reality. The ability to see the normally unseen opened up. This led Morehouse to be brought into the Defense Intelligence Agency's Remote Viewing Program where he was trained to develop the ability to psychically travel through time and space to targeted areas. I read the book over 20 years ago, Bought another copy recently and am rereading it. I am surprised at how much I missed the first time. Buy the book. Read it.

My question is, if it is a portal why is it without protection, without a guardian? We already know that (portals) are usually protected by strange creatures, for example: cryptids, ok, and others... And what about (water)??? We have always had portals close to water, and that is not the case here.Chaco canyon .
