The discovery of a homeless encampment dealing with a language barrier led Sacramento city officials to come their aid. Along Morrison Creek in south Sacramento was a community mostly populated by people from Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Most of them could not speak English. This prompted several organizations and city council members including Mai Vang of District 8 and Rick Jennings of District 7 to launch an all-hands-on-deck approach to help the community. At least a dozen people were placed in short-term shelters through the city's motel voucher program.

What a racist. There are 7, 770 homeless in Sacramento yet she only wanted to help the 30 Hmong persons... because her heart breaks. What about the other Non-Hmong, Council Member? Or, what about cleaning up our streets with longterm plans?

What about the single women with kids. Because they are white they don’t need help. This is sickening
